RHJ Foundation Supporting the Launch of C.H.A.P. Charter School
NBA Player Rondae Hollis-Jefferson is teaming up with local community members to bring hope to his hometown, where he is working to open a new public charter school next fall. Rondae and the C.H.A.P (Calm Humble And Patient) leadership team have applied to the Chester Upland School District, with a plan to enroll students in the fifth through eighth grade this coming fall. With this school, Rondae and his team of community leaders are working to provide an innovative learning experience that will successfully engage and prepare all students for lifelong success. The Rondae Hollis-Jefferson Foundation working to help fund the start-up costs for the school.
Innovative Practices Promoting Extraordinary Success
The core philosophy and underlying purpose of C.H.A.P. Charter School is to demonstrate that all students have the capacity for extraordinary success. The school will seek to nurture the gifts within each student to help them find academic achievement and a pathway to their success in life. A guiding principal of the school is that even students who have the least amount of opportunities can achieve extraordinary success when they are inspired to love and learn, and become calm, humble, and patient. C.H.A.P Charter School will look o achieve this outcome by providing students a high-quality 21st Century Education, including computer coding and Permaculture education.
